Faraway puzzle escape level4/1/2023 However, it falls short on delivering a story to make this a more complete experience. It has beautiful visuals and the gameplay mechanics are polished. Overall, Faraway: Puzzle Escape is a great diverse puzzle adventure. Perhaps, a finite game such as Faraway should have taken the ad revenue approach instead. ![]() For those invested into the puzzle experience, it is disappointing to have to be cut short from the experience to purchase more levels. While trials are great, Faraway does aim to have a story that never becomes integral to the experience making it not necessary to buy the rest of the game. It offers the first nine levels of the game (aka one half of the game) for free and charges a small fee for the second half. If you can’t solve the puzzle yet, it is because you have missed something in your observations.įaraway however is not a completely free experience. This makes for a creative and thought provoking experience and one that is challenging but not frustrating or impossible. The levels increase in complexity gradually and become multi-layered and often use a variety of puzzles styles or expands from one puzzle to the next. It uses details well and it’s up to the observational skills of its players to decipher the solutions. The gameplay mechanics are done very well. Therefore, the meat of this mobile game is in its great puzzles. When we do find notes, the story is not engaging enough and becomes disjointed due to its lack of completion. However, there is no obligation to find all the notes to proceed, which makes them merely a side quest. The second sequel of the Faraway trilogy. There are three notes to find in each level and they can be hidden under rocks or in various artifacts that you can break. Faraway: Jungle Escape is a relaxing adventure escape game full of new puzzles to solve. The story in Faraway is quite complimentary. On one hand, it does tell a story but on the other hand, it’s an adventure in solving the mysterious puzzles that block the path to the gateway to each successive level. Faraway tells the story of an adventurer who follows the footsteps of their father who disappeared ten years ago and in the ruins of the ancient temples find notes scattered and hidden about. However, what makes a good puzzle game or even a great one? Faraway: Puzzle Escape is one of those that finds a good balance between a visually-appealing and challenging game but not impossible space. In fact, you will find tons of them just on the front page of the App Store or Play Store. ![]() Mobile puzzle games are popular in the mobile market. In summary, the puzzle quality is amazing, and it does well enough in most other categories to make it a great game all-round.Faraway: Puzzle Escape, developed by PineStudio is a 3D mobile puzzle adventure set in the ruins of ancient temples and a modern tribute to Myst. Since you find the story in notes it just feels really weird, but it’s still slightly nice to get the character’s point of view, and the serenity of the place, as it already feels fantastic, is made better by this, but overall it’s just a compiled mess of random character things that is impossible to figure out. The music is still good enough that I don’t swap it out for something else, like I normally do. ![]() ![]() Multiple times I found myself figuring out what to do and going “oh that’s sooo cool!”, so quality of the puzzles is fantastic.Īs for music and visuals, the visuals are oddly nice, and even if a bit rudimentary, they’re anything but bad-looking. The puzzles are great, the idea that you just get a bunch of random looking red stuff and have to figure out what to do with it yourself, while it may not be for everyone is definitely something I’m a fan of. Nether the less, I like this little iOS series of puzzle games. I just don’t like the fact that you have to dig deep into something that probably would have been more enjoyable and enticing for other players if it wasn’t so hard to find and understand. I’m not saying that it is a bad story, I like the characters perspective of the place and the inner turmoil and tormenting emotions that dwell within him as the journey continues. My only other main problem is that story being told through notes. I don’t know weather they removed it or if it’s a bug or something? But I miss it. Ever since the new update, I can’t hear any of the games music. It kind of reminds me of monument valley in that, despite being pricey for how short the game really is, the game wins you over with it’s interesting puzzle mechanics and it’s beautiful music that is hard to find in any other game like this. Yes this game is not for everyone I understand that, but nether the less, it has a charm to it that I really like. But, if you look at it for a logical standpoint, I could see this series of games working out in the end. I’m going to be honest and say that for an iOS game (or any puzzle game in general), this one may not stand out that much. My only concern is the “lack of music” bug
